Kitchen and vanity cabinetry installation started

We were contacted by Di Lorenzo on the weekend about their concerns about tiling to 2.1m upstairs by our selves post hand over. This would cause some wastage and damage to the walls in the process and the tiling lines would probably be a bit weird. Anyway they would allow us to get the current 25% off sale price on the additional tiles needed upstairs. So we got an updated quote and paid today for the additional tiling. Luckily this was sorted out this week as we were told that tiling would start commencing Monday next week.

Got a call from our SS with the following updates:

- The carpenter has finished all the fixing

- The kitchen, bathroom and laundry cabinetry will be installed today

- Tiling to start next week

Yay the kitchen installation has been started!

L shaped island bench which will have water fall edges

The cupboard corner space in the top of the picture which will be unusable. We did consider putting a door opening on the other side but didn't like the look so we removed this option.

Decide to run cat6 to the kitchen island bench just in case. This is where we will have the Clark Razor 5940 stainless steel undermount sinks.

Our kitchen doors are Natural White in gloss 2 pack polyurethane with vogue profile. All top cupboards are "push to open" touch catches. Microwave tower on the left is also an upgrade, and it's an extra $650 just for the inbuilt microwave!

Cupboard doors to the rangehood use different push to open touch catches, these lock in once closed and can only be opened by actually pushing the door, where as the others can be opened by pushing or pulling the door.

In the original floor plan there is a void to the right of the kitchen bench top, we got this deleted and extended the bench and put in extra cupboards. 

 The 3 pot drawers to the right of the upright cooker. The middle drawer is shorter in depth due to the tap.

 Butler's pantry will also use the same colour theme as the kitchen

 Butler's pantry will have a Clark Cellini round ERT overmount.

Pantry cupboards, they are nice and deep so there will be lots of storage space. Since the Butler's pantry opens into the laundry, we decided to use the same colour theme as use in the kitchen. Natural white cupboards in gloss 2 pack polyurethane.

Laundry bench top will extend over the washing machine/dryer to give us more bench space.

Our 7093 litre water tank, I still can't get over how much this is costing us.

They painted the wall before placing the water tank on the slab. I think the colour of the tank (Colorbond Dune) blends in quite well with the render colour (Dulux Dreyfus). I requested that they add an extra 100mm to all sides on the utility slabs for the installation of a screen, but in hindsight I should have doubled it to 200mm.
