Was told buy our SS they would be starting gyprock on Friday, so I asked them to delay it till Monday so we could organise an Independent Frame Inspection and also give us a chance to check out the site before the gyprock went up. Well after a few emails and a phone call, the independent inspector went on site the next day and had the emailed report by that evening. First impressions was that this is a really fast and efficient service. But on reading the report it was very very thin. This could be attributed to either M being very good builders or the inspector blew by like a south westerly breeze. So the question is if this $595 money worth spent or not? It's very difficult to say but given the value of the house I would say yes, but I wouldn't recommend this guy, even though our friend used him. Our SS told us that they have better inspectors and he personally found 20 other defects which were not mentioned in the report. He also mentioned the independent inspector only spent about 20mins on site. That would explain the $595 light reading, mental note, do your own research, don't be lazy and don't assume you can't go wrong with referrals.
