Banana trees planted and tree fenced

Today we planted 6 banana trees courtesy Linh's parents, we're not sure if all will survive but we hope at least a couple will make it. We also took the opportunity to mow the lawn (hasn't been down since December last year and is almost knee high) and fence the gum tree at the back using 2.4m star pickets and weed mat. Weed mat? Yes it was way cheaper and I hope to re-use the left overs in the garden after handover. Unfortunately it's such a flimsy material it'll probably degrade with the sun or tear from a moderate breeze. I'll check back in the following weeks.

There are puddles on the right of the photo below, we were hit with a freak storm last night, so it's really muddy. This will probably delay the completion of the form work and slab.

Temporary fence for the tree

Richard kindly offered to help out on the day and bought us Maccas for lunch! Thanks.

As you can see plants had to be hand watered with a bucket as the tap was in the front of the property.
