Visit from Ms Cockatoo

Dropped by the house to check how things were going and Ms Cockatoo decided to fly by and visit us. When she (I'm just going to assume it's a she) soon realised we didn't have any food she flew away in disgust! I might have to grow some giant sun flowers in our big backyard once we move in.

Anyway back on topic, scaffolds have been removed, except for the scaffolding for the portico and preparations have been made for the roof tiling on the garage and rumpus room. House looks much cleaner and it feels like there is more room on the side.

In the photo above you can clearly see the colour difference between the painted render and the natural render colour. Drainage pipes will need to be completed before painting the ground floor.

First floor eaves and render painting complete

The first floor eaves and render painting is now complete. The scaffolds will eventually be removed to allow for the ground floor roof tiles to be installed. Not sure when the portico will be rendered and when the ground floor render will be painted. Render colour is Dulux Dreyfus (same as the Riva display home at Kellyville), eaves and lining are painted in Dulux Taupe White, gutters and windows are Colorbond Woodland Grey, fascia and garage door are Colorbond Dune.

Drainpipes are painted the same colour as the external wall.

Scaffolding installed

After the driest May since 1859, the last week has been rather slow due to the rain we've experienced. Scaffolding has been installed for over a week now and they have made some progress with the hebel installation on the first floor. Once this is complete the next stage will be the fascia and gutter.

Ground floor pretty wet, was told by the SS that the materials have a three month guarantee by the supplier that they can be exposed to the wet. Really hope it stops raining so we can get the roof on.

The tree at the front is starting to look very unhealthy, the arborist report identified it as "having reduced vigour and very poor structure" and should be removed.
