Tiling Continues

21/08/2012
Received an update from our SS saying that tiling should be finished this week and the 1st coat of paint will start next week. This will allow them to find any imperfections in the gyprock. Sometime this week they expect the kitchen and bathroom tops (ceaserstone) to be delivered and installed. The next stage would be the finish off, plumbing and electrical fitting. If everything goes to schedule the house will be ready early November. We really hope this is true however we don't want M to rush things at the cost of workmanship.

I dropped on site expecting to see all the tiling complete, only to find they still have lots to do.

Laundry
Laundry tiling started. For some reason the colours are a bit off, tiles look a bit pink and I suspect it's the flash light deflecting from the gyprock. Either that or I have the wrong white balance settings on the camera.

Powder Room
Guess they can't complete the tiling until the ceaserstone is installed.

Bathroom
Most of the wall tiling is complete and waiting on vanity ceaserstone installation.

Ensuite
Ensuite floor tiling complete, wall tiling not started.

 Shower

 Toilet

Bermuda Square Floor Waste

MSN061 Dark Latte Metallic tiles for the bathtub

Entry
Sliding door installed in the rear of Gallery.

Rainwater tank
Does this picture below look funny? I think so, as the wall on the left is where the rainwater tank is and this has been painted. The wall on the right hasn't, so this sign will need to be removed before painting.

  1. Looking good. Check tiling levels are consistent at 3/4 height around the bathrooms, feel under bare foot and grouting. Also if there is anything you want replaced or repaired make sure you email your SS and SC. I have almost finished my Nolan in Sydney and happy to chat about experience.

  2. Thanks for the tips, do you have a blog which you can share? So when did they officially start on your house?

I don't know if it's just us, but everyone else seems to be able to log into the M website to check the building progress, were you given access to do this?

  3. I didn't do a blog but I should've. We started last Year. I think the web site doesn't work for NSW. I may be wrong but it is useless anyway. Keep taking lots of pics and don't let your SS say no. If your not happy send your Cs an email. remember, your SS just wants to meet his milestones and get your payment. If you give me an email or number Id be happy to discuss more.

  4. Out of interest... Why are the Bemuda grates going in *after* screed and tiling ? I thought these went in during the bedding / screeding process ???
