Ceaserstone installed, tiling still not finished

01-09-2012
Dropped into find all the Ice Snow ceaserstone has been installed and most of the sinks have been installed except for the kitchen and the bathroom WC. I have a feeling they have totally forgotten about this as the Bathroom WC sink it's non standard.

Powder room
1.5mm off white grout for the floor tiling and white grout for the wall tiling.

Ice snow ceaserstone and Caroma Liano Vanity Basin

We optioned for tiled kick rail for all the vanities.

Bathroom

I'm pretty sure tilers use the floor waste point as a starting point for tiling. I mean how else could you line this up any otherway?

Bathroom WC
Anyone see a problem with the photo below? Off white grout has been used on the skirting, when it should be white. It was done correctly in the Ensuite WC but not here. In addition to this the tiling for the hand basin/mirror is not complete. Can't really see it in this photo but it's the wall on the left. Also the skirting should be 200mm high as specified in the floor plans, you can't tell from this angle but that definitely isn't 200mm. An issue I will probably need to take up with Di Lorenzo.

Ensuite

Really wished we changed this window, would have preferred to have this higher and have a layer of tiling between the bathtub and the window, similar to the pic below from one of their display home, sigh!

Similar issue her in the Ensuite WC tiling isn't 200mm, however grout is the correct colour though.

Recess is shower

Gap between the bathtub and vanity. What should we use this space for?

Kitchen
Kitchen cearserstone installed, unfortunately we didn't have time to remove the protective foam to take any decent photos.

Island bench has a 300mm overhang (breakfast bar) on both sides with water fall edges.

The hole we didn't ask for.

We ended up going for the free water filter as a result of the stone company's mistake. Settled for the square neck tap to match the main tap. We'll also be getting two Ice Snow chopping boards for free as well.

Water filter

31-8-02012
We were contacted by our Building Support Co-ordinator via an email with the subject line "Water filter", asking us to give them a call to discuss this matter. The water filter is standard but we had deleted it in our internal variation, my immediate suspicion was that they have installed the ceaser stone benchtop and drilled a hole for it! Well after calling our BSC my suspicions were correct. She was nice enough to explain the situation and wanted to know if we wanted the water filter at no cost which would include 2 complimentary cartridges. I mentioned that we specifically deleted this item and got a water outlet installed in the fridge cavity so we wouldn't need this. Anyway I asked for some photos of the hole and the benchtop and we would think it over. It's unfortunate this has happened and I can only guess this will be an expensive exercise to replace the benchtop, and the process of removing it could also damage other items. We're in two minds about this as we wanted to keep the bench top clear of anything but the tap. Even though this item is free, it really isn't something we want, but on the other hand it would be nice to have filtered water that isn't chilled plus it's easier to change the water filter under the sink than behind the fridge. The other option is that we could convert the water filter to a soap dispenser post handover. What should we do?

We received these photos from M and they mentioned that the stone company would also provide 2 chopping boards free of charge, in ‘Ice Snow’.

We asked M to send us a photo of the water filter that would be installed.

I would prefer the square neck tap instead

Below is a soap dispenser we are considering for the powder room vanity and maybe where the water filter would be installed.

13/09/2012 Update
Today I received the two chopping boards from the stone company. They are so heavy, the trip from the mail room to my desk wasn't the easiest task. I really should have asked them to ship this home instead of the office. I'll either have to take them home one by one on the train or pick them up by car on the weekend. Which makes me wonder how practical these will be to use as cheese platers or chopping boards.
